Football legend Steve Walters accepted an invite from Beaudesert High School student Toni Currie and joined The Drumley Walk for 2011.
Walters is a mentor at the school, where he attends as part of the FOGs program (Former Origin Greats).
“He’s great,” said Toni.
“We love the FOGs program and Steve is a really nice guy. It was really great to show him our event, in our town.”
Walters told the crowd at the start that he walked in honour of his father, who passed away last year.
Steve praised the organisers and also pledged the FOGs program would be happy to align with it in the future.
“The walk is a great event and it is great to see the next generation getting in and having a go,” he said.
